Copeland's ability to score touch-downs and run track has taken him around the world, and his remarkable talent, intensity and tenaciousness – is well documented from the Hall of Fame Halls at the University of Miami, to the National Championship Trophy Cases, to the National Football League with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers which he average 21.1 yards per catch, This two time National Championship winner began his professional career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers where he was elected to win the Ed Block Courage Award – the most prestigious industry award only given to the most courageous, inspired leaders that make that largest contribution to the total TEAM effort.
Horace Copeland is well known for his success as a top-notch wide receiver for the Hurricanes' football team. Copeland's NCAA-record tying 99-yard touchdown reception from eventual Heisman Trophy winner Gino Torretta in a 31-3 season opening win over Arkansas in 1991 ranks No. 1 all-time at Miami. He also became Miami's first track All-American. Earlier that season, Copeland was named the Most Outstanding Performer at the 1992 BIG EAST Outdoor Track and Field Championships after winning the 100-meters, long jump, high jump and anchoring the 4x100-meter relay to victory.
Horace Copeland travels around the country on a mission to motivate youth organizations, colleges and ministries. Copeland is determined to teach the next generation the keys to success. His goal is to empower youth to work hard and utilize good resources around them. Copeland
attributes persistence along with discipline and goal setting learned from his parents, teachers, and coaches as a main factors in his success. These individuals were significant role models that made an impact on his life and encouraged him to dream big.
